A Culture Route Passing Over 16 Cities
TÜRKİYE Culture Road Festivals will take place in sixteen cities this year, conveying Anatolia’s heritage of history, culture, arts and civilization. These festivals, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aim to introduce Türkiye’s rich cultural values to a broader audience by gathering local and foreign artists, culture, history and gastronomy.

The festivals cover a wide range of activities in areas such as opera, ballet, theatre, cinema, literature, dance, music, and digital arts and thus embrace all the people with different areas of interest.

TÜRKİYE is among the most popular destinations with its fast, high-quality services and geographic position. The country offers cost advantages, a robust technological infrastructure and the opportunity to visit cultural, historical and natural beauties. Therefore, Türkiye is among the countries most preferred by patients. Türkiye aims to host 2.5 million people by increasing supervision over promoting and implementing service quality in medical tourism.
4.500 CERTIFIED COMPANIES
Türkiye is one of the world’s model countries in medical tourism, and it passed the test during the pandemic because of its wide product range, dynamic real sector and infrastructure. A new move has been initiated with programs in the healthcare area in Türkiye, and over 4,500 companies, facilities, and associations are licensed in the country. Half of these businesses are active
in Istanbul. Therefore, the city is considered the centre of health tourism.
UNLICENSED BUSINESSES WILL BE CLOSED
Türkiye aims to strengthen its position in health tourism further with the legal measures initiated to raise the service quality. The Regulation on the Supervision of Private Health Facilities published in December 2023 stipulates that the governorate will close the facilities that are unlicensed, unpermitted, or lack a certificate of conformity and that provide medical services, perform operations and medical practices. A criminal complaint will be filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the relevant persons. The medical facility representative who does not fulfil his obligations will be warned twice and will be discharged the third time. Administrative fines will be applied to the medical facilities that demand additional fees in breach of the legislation, and such fees will be returned to the patients.
TO EXCEED 2 MILLION
Famous for hair transplantation, Türkiye has become one of the top 3-4 countries in the world that are preferred for surgical processes, in vitro fertilization, oncological treatments, cosmetic surgeries, and ophthalmological and dental treatments. The reliability and affordability of the high-standard medical services impacted this process. The seas, sun, history, cultural structure and rich cuisine of Türkiye offer distinctive advantages to the tourists. The patients arriving in Türkiye can carry out different touristic activities with their relatives during their treatments.
The number of visitors arriving in Türkiye for medical purposes has increased yearly. The 2022 figure of 1.4 million is expected to exceed 2 million in 2023. There is an immense demand from European countries, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands in particular, as well as from the Middle East.
TRANSLATION SERVICES
Translation services have also been extended to meet the requirements of the tourists visiting Türkiye to receive medical treatment. Communication with the patients becomes possible with the help of translators offering services in different languages.
