Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) President Şekib Avdagiç, said that “Extension of short-time working application as a second by 3 months more after 30th June, will contribute to firms to leave the difficulties  of pandemic periods behind themselves.”

Avdagiç reminded in his explanation to AA reporter that the firms got the short-time working allowances on İŞKUR in 25th of March while the new first type coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country was being determined in 10th of March.

Avdagiç mentioned that the applications are made by employers on behalves of employees, and in this respect, the 60 percents of a worker’s daily gross profit who works for 3 months and the insurance charges are paid from this allowance.

Avdagiç highlighted the resemblance between the mission of allowance  which is like a shield for the sectors, with  its name, Economic Sustainable  Shield Package, spoke like that:

Şekib Avdagiç mentioned that “we must  to learn living, producing and saling with Corona” while highlighting the mission of the fight of bussiness world against to new type Coronavirus.”

Avdagiç also talked about their close monitoring in all sectors, and spoke like that “we see the indicator in Economy will increase from the months of June. We must take the new precautions speedly in some sectors. We will success it with the cooperation. Besides in the last days, the news about “the intensive orders” taken by our sectors are conveyed to us. We are in the goodwill mood with the precautions if the second wave is not come.

Avdagiç attracted the attention for risks and opportunities in bussiness world, and mentioned that the period must be managed properly, “Turkey is privileged than other all countries with its  production disiplinasy, qualified working power, transportation performance. The product request of the West from China, Cambodia, Vietnamese will decrease in one day even if it is not in today.

“NONE OF THE COUNTRIES INCREASED THE MASK PRODUCTION 12 TIMES IN 30 DAYS!”

ICOC President Avdagiç highlighted the performance of Turkey in mask production, and said that Turkey produced 4 million masks in a day and after a month Turkey produced 50 million maks. “None of the countries increased the mask production 12 times in 30 days. It proofs that Turkish entrepreneurs’ dynamisms against to changable requests. Especially our portion in EU importation is possbile to increase. Namely, Turkey took 3.6 portion in a hundred percent  with 70 billion Euro in 2 trillion dollar imports in 2019. Turkey is the 6th biggest partner in importation. We will increase it. There is an opportunity now. Turkey must double its 3,6 portion in 2 trillion dollar imports of EU.”
