President Şekib Avdagiç mentioned in the explanation taken by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) that the business world is face to face with an exam. Avdagiç said that “Our first priority is to make our people and workers sustain and stay alive. This order emphasizes: “Staying alive indicates the health importance, and sustaining shows the importance on the production. In that case, the first phase is the health of our people that we have to take every kind of precautions. The second phase is to keep producing”.

SMART QUARANTINE MUST BE ACTIVATED

Avdagiç talked about the smart quarantine, and said that: “Our folks have to stay at their homes as our government and Health Ministry have mentioned. We keep producing for our folks. We continue the production to block empty shelves for our folks to stay at their homes calmly and safely. We keep producing in many important sectors from food to defence, and technology to transportation so as to produce the orders which are come via e-trade.  I tell our folks that; Turkey, stay at home, we keep producing for you.  We are obligated to keep our lives while fighting against to Coronavirus (Covid-19). We will win the outbreak when we hold the solidarity soul alive. We  need neither factories nor work places to produce and form a value. Everywhere is avaliable to produce for all sectors and workers who do not need a physical environment. Some of ICOC members have succeeded in the smart quarantine activation”.

FIRST PRIORITY IS THE WORKER HEALTH

Avdagiç mentioned that the first priority of the factories and work places which keep working at minimum level,  is the worker health. Avdagiç said that the operations take the precautions which are publicated by Health Ministry against to coronavirus, and that “We have sensetive members. They firstly take the precautions for their work environments, after that they start working. They also take precautions for the transportation of their workers as well. As ICOC, we are glad very much for the sensetiveness of our members”.

WE MUST NOT CONSUME OUR SAVINGS

Avdagiç says that: “We can not consume our savings. We will keep our hopes and production alive with the cures we will find. We will protect the lives, our social structures, and economics. Because of that, we will keep online touch system.  We can both fight against to coronavirus and keep producing at an avaliable tempo. We can keep producing and forming the value with supplying the social distance. We do not have an alternative except heart solidarity on these days. We have to continue the system, economy. We do not have to forget that our works on these days will help us for the virus destruction for next months. Therefore we have to perceive this situation as an incubation period to keep our working life alive again. Turkey has taken fast initiative in the issue of Covid-19. We can decrease the effects of outbreak through the protection on employments and payments. On this point, the precautions of our government with the decision of our President have positive reflections. Many kind of precautions such as short term allowances,  easiness on the credit payments, postpones on tax payments, avaliable financial packages for workers and supports for retired persons have been fastly activated. These precautions are important very much”.
